Yes. You need at least a valid Texas learner's permit, and you must bring it to every lesson.

No. One Stop offers supplemental practice only, so lessons can't be logged toward the state's required instructor hours. Many students take them alongside a parent-taught or online course to get extra time with a professional instructor.

A dual-brake Toyota Camry hybrid or Lexus ES hybrid. I have a brake on my side, so I can step in if needed. Most nervous students find that makes it much easier to relax.

Each lesson is built around where you are right now. A first-time driver might start in a quiet parking lot with the controls and smooth turns. A more experienced student might work on highway merging, lane changes or parallel parking. After each lesson, I'll tell you what to practice next.

Absolutely. A lot of my students are adults who are starting late or getting back behind the wheel after years away. We go at your pace, and there's no judgment.

That's up to the student. Some students feel more relaxed with a parent along, and others feel more nervous, so the student decides.

Please give at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations with less notice have a $45 rescheduling fee, unless it's due to illness or a medical or family emergency. If you're running 5–10 minutes late, I'll start the lesson that much later when my schedule allows. If another student is booked right after, the lesson still ends at its scheduled time. If you're 15 minutes late without notice, the lesson counts as a no-show and the hour is used. To keep that hour instead, you can pay the $45 rescheduling fee.

In Texas, you can get a learner's permit at 15 after starting a driver education course. Adults can apply at 18. Drivers 18–24 must complete an adult driver education course first, and drivers 25 and older can choose whether to take one.

I don't administer tests myself, but our Lessons + Road Test packages include a discounted road test through A&K Driving Austin at their North Austin office.
